Shower Surprises

Hello!
It's about 1 PM in the afternoon here on Wednesday. We were up early today to go and teach English at the Christian School. Kaillie and I taught 4th grade. We were working on clothing--shirt, skirt, shoes, socks, etc. They had fun, but I'm not sure if it will stick. As you can probably imagine, English is fairly difficult for them. It would be like us going over and trying to learn Thai---no thank you! The pronounciations alone wear me out!
Christy and Rosie had the 5th grade, and they worked on asking and answering the question: "What does your father do? My father is a farmer." They had a lot of fun, even if they were winging it! Some of the kids seemed to understand, but others had no clue.
For lunch Debbie took us to her favorite place to get Cow Soy (that's my interpretation of the spelling!). Debbie assured us it wasn't spicy, but I'm thinking she's immune to hot foods now . . . WHEW! HOT!!!! My lips were numb, but yes, I did my best to eat it. Lots of water!!!!!!! We got fresh fruit for dessert, and it was so good.
We are now making dessert for the orphans at Hot Springs. I've never been to that orphanage, so it should be an adventure! We (by "we" I mean Christy and Rosie:) are making snickerdoodles . . . hopefully the kids will like them!
Oh, last night was so much fun! The kids really did well with the Bible Quizzing. All of them were really into finding the answers and earning points for their teams. I think the Red Fish are in the lead at the moment with 125 points. I helped out in the Baby House during devotion time--oh, washing the little kids' hair was so fun! Some of their faces were so cute! This little group of boys were all lathered up standing around in their matching blue shorts--adorable! Washing the shampoo out of ther hair was hard because we didn't want to soak them! Some of them acted as though the water was hurting them--and it wasn't even that cold. Some priceless moments, that's for sure!
Anyway, T, one of the baby house workers, asked me to help in the Baby House, and it was really fun---even when one of the babies peed all over me. By this point, I hadn't even taken a shower that day, so no problem. We were all so tired and dirty by the time we finished everything and helped with homework. All we wanted to do was go home, shower, and sleep. Here comes Funny Moment #9: I was eating Pringles downstairs when I heard a loud voice yell: "Susannah! Get up here and get this grecko!" Yes, she did say grecko! Apparently, our little lizard friend likes our shower! Poor Christy. It took A LOT of screaming (I'm surprised the neighbors didn't come running) before Kaillie finally captured it in a cup. She let it go, so don't worry. It was quite humorous! Don't you wish you could see that scene? I filmed it! :)
Also, there were ants in my Raisin Bran the other day . . . welcome to Thailand! YUM!
Anyway, I'll try to update again soon. I'm sure there will be more to write about!

PS. I had one of the worker guys tell me he liked my white legs--that was a switch!!!! HAHA! I don't think I've ever gotten that compliment!
